For these photos I changed the aperture and the shutter speed to see how they affected the focus of the images I noticed that when the shutter speed was really slow even the slightest movement would make the image blur, these are the two blurriest photos of the six although the one outside I tried standing still and the one indoors I tried moving slightly. With the others I found that if the object closest to you takes up more of the photograph it will appear clear while the background is blurred, while if the object closest to you took up a small part of the photo then instead the will become blurred and the background will become clear. the shutter speed was 100 for 2 of these, 400 for one, 800, for one and 6400 for the other 2.

Ralph Eugene Meatyard
From Ralph's photographs I can see that he has a odd fascination about masks but also photographs ether slightly or completely out of focus. Another thing to note his photos usually have a large contrast of black and white which shows use all the detail that could be over looked if the photo was just in colour. His work reminds me of Francesca Woodman's photographs since she also disguised the identity of everyone in the picture (although she did this by blurring their head), as well as paying close attention to the contrast of light in the photo and always taking the photo in black and white.
