Lisette Model
|
Lisette Model's photographs are primarily to do with certain subjects and while her signature style of photography was rather different to reflections, her work with reflections is really detailed and unique and I feel like each photo has there own story about it, which can be shown or seen in many different ways although it will always be how the viewer perceives the photographs for example some of these to me are very morbid in their own ways. Although I think Lisette saw new York as complex and male dominated with woman shown in the side lines although that makes them stand out more for example the photo with the mannequins the bride is frowning with the groom smiling next to her this shows the divided society when Lisette Model grew up.

Photos in response to Lisette Model
With these photos I tried making an enigma within them where the viewer would wonder about what is happening within the scene I had presented like Lisette's photos where there would be a subject and you can perceive it in many different lights although it's mainly just how the photograph is taken and what we can guess is happening but as well as this I also tried making some sort of story for each photograph as well as adding my own twist on each one of them. Also I wanted the viewer to see more of the picture through the reflection than the photograph to add more to the idea of seeing the photo differently and spotting something you did not see the last time you looked at it.

Lee's work is very similar to what I was trying for with my photographs such as he also takes photos using car wing mirrors and also seems to create a story in each photograph this interests me since I had forgotten what his work looks like on the days I was taking photographs although I somehow recreated some of his pictures without remembering what they look like, this intrigues me to look back over some of my previous work and see wether any of mine are similar to other artists I have seen.
